Staying safe
Escrow removes the biggest risk in peer-to-peer trading: it makes it impossible to pay and get nothing. What it cannot do is stop you from being talked into leaving the system. Almost every real loss starts that way.
Rules that matter
- Never release before the money is in your account. A screenshot is not a payment. A pending notification is not a payment. Open your banking app and look at the balance.
- Never trade outside Voltex. If someone asks you to cancel and pay directly, or to continue on Telegram or WhatsApp, they are asking you to give up escrow and the right to appeal. That is the entire scam.
- Keep the chat on Voltex. An appeal is decided on the evidence in the trade chat. A conversation that happened somewhere else cannot be read by the person deciding.
- Pay from an account in your own name. Paying from someone else's account makes the transfer impossible to match to you, and a merchant is right to refuse it.
- Voltex staff will never ask for your password, your PIN, or a code from an SMS or email. Anyone who does is not from Voltex, whatever the message says.
What we do on our side
Identity verification before trading, so an appeal has two identifiable people in it. Escrow that the marketplace cannot spend and staff cannot quietly move. Rate limits and lockouts on sign-in, so a stolen password cannot be guessed at scale. A daily withdrawal cap that bounds the damage if one is stolen anyway.
If something has gone wrong
Open an appeal from inside the trade — do not cancel it first. Cancelling releases the escrow and ends the dispute. If you think someone has your password, change it and contact support@voltexp2p.com immediately.
